The Information Technology Department program supports the mission of Ibri College of Technology by providing preparation in information technology to enable its students to succeed in using computer technology to solve problems faced by individuals and organizations and to keep up with emerging technology and its uses. Our IT program courses enables students to solve problems using their knowledge of computer technology along with their reasoning skills, their ability to gather information, and their ability to effectively communicate their proposed solutions with a variety of audiences.The program enables students to appreciate the impact of their solutions and decisions and to continue their education independently. The information technology curricula are designed to be of use to students with a wide variety of interests involving computers and computing. Courses are offered in computing fundamentals, computer programming, systems analysis, and computing applications. Our programs is designed for students who intend to enter the computing professions in jobs such as System Analysts, Programmer/Analysts, or Web Specialists, as well as for those who intend to be a Business Computing Specialists.

The Department is a strong, enthusiastic and one of the fast growing young departments in the College. The mission of the Department is “to achieve and sustain strong reputation for excellence in teaching and learning. This includes developing IT professionals and scientist for positions of leadership in industry, government, and academia. It also leads to basic, applied and multi-disciplinary research as well as coordinating and cooperating with other parts of the research world. Likewise, the Department of Information Technology provides the intellectual leadership and technology in the IT field required by the College and the nation.
The IT department offers wide range of programmes at different levels namely Certificate, Diploma and Higher Diploma and the curriculums are reviewed and updated regularly in the world wide global IT market to meet the demands of the IT industry and employers. The certificates offer the best of both theoretical and practical experiences. The programmes in the IT department provide man power for programming and design skills for global market and also create future prospects for career opportunities in Oman and other countries. The experienced highly qualified staff members in IT department closely supervise and regularly monitor the students for their future careers. The IT department is gearing towards quality teaching and research in advanced areas of Information Technology and Computational Mathematical Sciences.
