On the second day of the induction, a presentation was given by the Head of English Programme Section – Mr Mohammed Al Shemakhi. In his lecture, he included the most significant part in the English Foundation Course such as student’s admission/progression, the Programme Structure and its Description, the Assessment & Attendance System, ELC Policies and Resources. Mr Mohammed also emphasized on the use of (SAC) Self Access Center , (MMC) Multimedia Centers and the Library.

The other half of the second day session was occupied by the lecture on H1N1 by Dr Ibrahim Taha, a resident physician at Ibri Hospital. Dr Ibrahim described the procedures for dealing with cases of H1N1 infection. His lecture also included all the symptoms of the said infection such as flu-like symptoms and the prevention of such cases. The college is continuously taking all the necessary precautions to keep all the students and staff safe from such diseases.

The last day was the placement test which was held at the Computer Labs. The test was conducted through a computer based system using Moodle. The beauty of this system is that it provides an immediate result so after the exam the students already know their English foundation level. It was divided into three sessions which started from 8:00am and ended at 4:30pm. Students directly proceeded to their respective labs. Most of them showed so much eagerness when they did their practice test.

The rest of the remaining days, students come to the college to confirm their level in the placement test with the English Language Center and see their timetables.
