Call for Graduate Research Grant (GRG)

RCC invites proposals for Graduate Research Grant (GRG) Program by MoHERI for the year 2022. Omani Graduates and Pre-doctoral investigators are encouraged to prepare research proposals and submit for funding under the GRG Program. 

Maximum Budget: OMR 3,000 / Project

Period: Max of 2 years

Limit on Resources: No caps for categories

Eligibility:

• This program is reserved for Omanis. However, the supervisor may be non-Omani.
• The minimum qualification required is a bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of work experience.
• Work experience is not mandatory for PIs, who hold a Master's degree.
• PhD Degree holders are NOT eligible to apply as PIs, but can serve as supervisors or co-investigators.

Submission Process: 

1. Eligible staff members are requested to go through the attached TRC GRG guidelines carefully before preparing the proposal. The proposals must adequately address all criteria elements in order to avoid disqualification from being considered for GRG.

2. The PI shall upload the proposal in Moodle. Click here for GRG proposal submission.

3. The research team shall present their proposals before the review committee on the scheduled dates. After approval, the PI shall upload the proposals in the TRC-RIMS.

• FInterested staff are requested to create their profiles in TRC-RIMS well in advance before the Moodle submission deadline.
• Final proposal uploaded to RIMS shall be submitted to RCC both in word and pdf formats.

Call for Undergraduate Research Grant (URG)

RCC invites proposals for Undergraduate Research Grant (URG) Program by MoHERI for the year 2022. Students are encouraged to prepare research proposals and submit for funding under the URG Program.

Maximum Budget: OMR 1,500 / Project

Period: Max of 1 years

Limit on Resources: No caps for categories

Student Eligibility: Students should have completed at least one semester with 2.3 CGPA

Submission Process: 

1. Faculty mentors and students are requested to go through the attached TRC URG guidelines carefully before preparing the proposal. The proposals must adequately address all criteria elements in order to avoid disqualification from being considered for URG.
2. Student team lead or Faculty Mentor (on behalf of the student) shall upload the proposal in Moodle. Click here for URG proposal submission.
3. The research team shall present their proposals before the review committee on the scheduled dates. After approval, the student team lead shall upload the proposals in the TRC-RIMS.

Research Funding Programme (RFP)

UTAS-Ibri encourages faculty members and students to meet their research targets through the internal Research Funding Programme from AY 2017-18. A Call for Proposals under RFP is to be published in the month of March of every academic year. Proposals will be reviewed by the RCC in the month of April and recommended to the College Council for approval. The College Council approves the proposals of the research teams.

The research teams will carry out the research for a period of one year and report progress  every six months to the RCC. On completion of one year, the research team will submit a completion report to the RCC. This process will repeat every academic year.
